Basic (A2 – A1)

What will I learn?
During the basic course you will learn essential grammatical skills and the most important vocabulary in order to have basic, everyday conversations. These include conversations to introduce yourself to Dutch people, to talk about your current profession and how it is to be a student in The Netherlands. Also, simple conversations and interactions, like in the supermarket, at the university or at work will be covered. The course focusses heavily on the spoken language. Grammatical subjects covered during this course are: pronunciation, the present, past and future tense, the present perfect and sentence structuring.

How long?
The course runs for 10 weeks with weekly 2-hour classes. Two of these classes will be ‘real-life’ excursions where we will go and do a fun social activity while practicing our Dutch, like a city tour, ice skating or a Dutch food tasting class! During exam weeks there won’t be any courses and a free catch-up class is included. Classes are of a maximum of 8-12 people.

When and were?
Offline courses start at the end of September or at the end of January in Amsterdam, The Hague/Leiden, Utrecht, Rotterdam and Groningen. Throughout the year additional classes can start anytime we have a class. Online education is always possible on request.

Course fee?
The course fee for the basic student course is 220,- including all the modules, books and the free catch-up class. Special discounts apply for students of specific student associations and residents of certain living corporations.
